- FOOTNOTES: (Please see
table description
for complete information!)
- (1) PERMIT ACTIVITY
Permit Holders in this section are defined as
current permit holders at year-end.
Not included are people who permanently transferred
their permit away during the year, had their permit
revoked, or people who received the permit through
a temporary emergency transfer. This differs from
the FISHING ACTIVITY section, which counts anyone
who fished a permit. This may result in a lower
number of permit holders than fishers.
City and State of Residence is based on the
address and residency claimed year-end permit holder
when issued the permit. This differs from the
FISHING ACTIVITY section where where city and
state of residence is based on that claimed by the
person who held the permit at the time it was fished.
(See Table Description
for more information on residency assignment.)
- (2) FISHING ACTIVITY
Non-commerical catch, such as derby, research,
confiscated, and personal use, is excluded from
this table; though incidental commercial catch is included.
Fishermen Who Fished is a count of permit holders who
made at least one landing during the year, including people who held
the permit through a temporary emergency transfer,
who later permanently transfered their permit away, or
who later had their permit revoked. This differs from
the PERMIT ACTIVITY section, which counts only the
permit at year-end. Due to permanent and
temporary emergency transfers, more than one person
can fish the same permit. This can result in a
larger number of fishers than permits (permits
fished or permits held).
City and State of Residence is based on the
address and residency claimed by the individual
who held the permit at the time it was fished.
This differs from PERMIT ACTIVITY where address
and residency comes that claimed by the year-end permit holder.
(See Table Description
for more information on residency assignment.)
Pounds Landed and Estimated Gross
Earnings information is masked with an 'X'
when needed to preserve confidentiality
(AS 16.05.815).
Confidentiality requirements involve masking
when 3 or less people or permits are involved in
the fishery and, if needed, masking the same
fishery for another area in order to show statewide
and year totals.
Estimated Gross Earnings is derived from an
ex-vessel price per pound developed by the CFEC.
A 'P' in this column indicates that the pricing
for this fishery has not been completed.
- (3) GROUP TOTALS
Totals are provided for each fishery group. If the
fishery group total is confidential the pounds and
earnings information will be masked. When not
prevented by confidentiality requirements, a second
total line excluding information from
confidential fisheries, is provided.
