Abstract:
This report was prepared in response to petitions to limit the Kodiak Dungeness Crab Fishery. Petitioners were worried
that there would be a big influx of new participants into the fishery if the NPFMC's Comprehensive Rationalization Plans
for groundfish and BSAI crab close many fisheries. The report provides a historical look at the Kodiak fishery, with many
time series tables breaking out harvests and estimates of earnings by vessel size, permit type, area of catch, and etc.
Potential Problems associated with license limitation under the salmon program.
