The Commission’s Information Technology section regularly produces standard data tables with information pertaining to fisheries, permits and vessels. Data tables with information about fishery participation and earnings are shown below. The left column indicates the name of the data table and the right column is a brief description of the data and possible selection criteria.
Basic Information Tables (BITS)
The number of permits, total pounds landed, total estimated gross earnings, and average estimated gross earnings per permit are provided for each permit fishery by year. Information is subtotaled by resident type. Estimated permit values at year-end are shown for limited fisheries with a sufficient number of permit sales.

Permit & Fishing Activity by Year, State, Census Area or Alaskan City
Permit and fishing activity is summarized by Alaskan city, Alaskan
Census Area, or state in which permit holders reside. For each permit fishery and year, tables include the number of permits issued, number of permit holders, and number of permits with recorded landings. The tables also include total pounds landed and estimated gross earnings (by permit fishery and year) attributed to permit holders residing in the area selected.
The process for accessing these tables online has recently changed. To view the tables, select an area and a year from the drop down lists below. Once in a table you can view information for other years without returning to this menu.
Quartile Tables show the distribution of estimated gross earnings among permits for each permit fishery and year. The number of permits and the average gross earnings per permit within each quartile are shown.
